Transferred to Akron

Here is my new address:

1101 Independance Ave.
Apt. 1121
Akron, Ohio 44310

How has your guys week been? :) It was so much fun to talk with you guys on Mothers Day! :) So grateful for technology :) It seems like forever since we have had a pday to talk, haha these 9 day weeks for transfers are always interesting to see just how "long" they can be 😉 But you make them fun, right?! 😁

So I just found out transfer news last night, and surprise!! I'm getting transferred to the Akron zone tomorrow! :) I will be with Elder Pakwal in the Talmadge Nepali ward this next transfer. He is a native Nepali and speaks the language very good. The city of Talmadge is about 3 hrs North from Columbus, so itll be a little road trip tomorrow 😉 Needless to say, I'm very sad to be leaving Reynoldsburg and not have been able to go meet people here, but I know Heavenly Father has a plan and trust and faith is what we do and we keep believing in His plan for us. So I will be going to Talmadge, Ohio tomorrow morning at about 10 am. It has been so fun here in Reynoldsburg, and I'm going to miss Elder Sirrine, he has been a good comp for me. I'll send you guys my new address when we talk on Monday next week :):)

I was able to receive a very special blessing from President Stratford last week on Wednesday. He gave me the blessing to have the gift of tongues and the gift of interpretation of tongues. It was so very special and I know that priesthood blessings are important, and I know that they work and help guide us in our life. I'm so grateful for the priesthood that I hold and that I too can give people blessings from the Lord. I have now finished the first 2 chapters of the Nepali Book of Mormon, and I'm learning so much, stretching myself beyond my limits to learn and comprehend ;)

We also found out that we will be having a total of 115 new missionaries being re assigned to the Ohio Columbus mission here in the next 2 to 3 months, which will put the numbers to a total of 260 ish of missionaries here in this mission. The first load of them start coming on this upcoming Monday, May 18th. I also found out that we will be getting Instagram and YouTube both put on our phones in the coming weeks. The missionary dept feels it will help connect more people to the Gospel and we can make more and more videos and help share and spread the Gospel even further  :) So it's very very exciting!

Some fun things that we did this last week:

- Went on a 4 mile run! 😁 We both made it the first mile in, and then Sirrine said he was tired, and so I finished the final 3 miles by myself. Just like good ol times 😉

- We also played lots of frisbee golf and basketball! My shot has been getting pretty pretty good and I'm getting even better at frisbee golf, a talent I'm working on hah :);)

- We went on a road trip yesterday down to downtown Columbus and saw lots of cool looking bldgs and statues! We went to the Topiary gardens and wow, those bushes shaped like different things are so cool! I made sure to take some good pictures! It was so much fun to get out and see more of Columbus, (which I'm so glad we did since I'm getting transferred :).

- Haha so we ran out of food pretty much completely this last week . . . (We had cereal and pasta is all that was left by yesterday) hah so we had a lot of cooking time this week and we made chicken alfredo and some interesting foods kind of thrown together just with whatever we had. We also roasted peeps (my easter peeps) over the stove on Monday, hah that was an adventure ;)

We are 58 days in quarantine today. This last week was probably the most trying week for me while being inside the last 58 days. I felt the adversary working so hard on me, and there were a few moments I kind of just wanted to crumble to the ground. I know our Savior is there for us, even when we have no ounce of strength left and we are on the ground not able to get up, He gives us the reassurance that as we look to Him for His help, we will recieve the strength given from Him and His atonement. I have truly been humbled from this experience, and in the words of many people in the scriptures, "As to myself, I am weak; but as with God, I am made strong in the furnace of my afflictions". The atonement is real and is there to help us to be made strong every single day, it's so special and I absolutely love the power and joy and happiness it has 😁

Translation: The Gospel is true, and God lives.  The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and Joseph smith was a true prophet and translated the book for all of us to read.  His plan is perfect for us, and He will show the way as we trust and believe in Jesus Christ.  I'm so grateful for loving guidance everyday, and for the blueprint to keep going and to see blessings along the way to the miracles that He has for us.

The invite I wanted to share with everyone this week is something that I truly know to be true and that it brings everlasting joy and happiness. This week, I want all of us to: Strive everyday to "Remember Jesus Christ" in our lives and pray for His strength to help us in every little thing and big thing of our lives 😁😁 I know He will endow all of us with His power as we do this, it's so so crazy awesome! :)

How is Salem doing?? :) Derrick said graduation is in 2 weeks, so glad that they are still able to do some sort of a graduation for these amazing seniors who have worked very hard :):) How is bishopric, school, and work doing and going? And so so awesome that summertime is now upon us; hah it seems like Christmas time was just here. Where is the time going?! I will hit my 9 month mark tomorrow of being out here in Ohio, and time just seems to be going by faster and faster :)

I pray for you all everyday, and I miss you all so much! :) I'm very grateful for you all and your examples to me :) Keep up the great work ❤ I'm so excited to talk to everyone today! :)

I love YOU Forever and Always! :)

Elder Dylan💛😉
