Jesus Christ is the Center of Our Lives

This week was such a great week and I'm so very grateful for it😊 I learned so much, and first and foremost, General Conference was an amazing time! Who else thought it was so so good!?!?!

I loved that President Nelson, and really all of the speakers who spoke, spoke on the importance of hearing Jesus Christ in a more higher and holier way, by following two complete and very perfect words: LOVE & UNITY. Sometimes, as Elder Cook stated, it is hard to have love and unity, because of choices others in the world make, and we have to live and deal with. But, with the help of the Savior, we apply His redeeming love, and we Try, Try, Try to do our best and see everyone as they really are: Sons and Daughters of a loving Heavenly Father.

Me and Elder Moss are doing good here in Wadsworth, Ohio and continuing to strive to teach people and communicate and work with the members. I am sincerely hoping and praying that in these next 3 weeks we can meet with ALL of the members before transfers come, and make a connection with all of them.

We are teaching:

- A lady named Pam Woosnam. Her husband is a very very less active member here in the ward. Pam is pretty open and receptive to hearing from the missionaries. We call her once or twice a week and share with her a scripture  and how that scripture can apply to one or two of the 42 points from the 5 lessons. Hoping to get her more solidified by the end of this month!

- A guy named Drew. He is an older guy, and we have only talked through simple phone calls. He is a busy guy with work, and so we havent been able to talk to him for about 2 weeks. Keep him in your prayers that we will be able to reach him, and know how to help him in his life. We have been sharing scriptures with him and how they apply to the current situation in the world, so steady work with him is key right now!

I have really been learning and stretching my knowledge lately of the word: Patience, and how the Lord wants us to remain patient in order to accomplish His work. It was actually talked about in General Conference this weekend, about how we sometimes become " near sighted " or President Nelson said it perfectly, we become: Myopic (near sighted). We focus so much on the short term effects, that we don't realize that what we are doing right then, can have a much greater and lasting effect. Kind of like our favorite talk from Elder Utchdorf of: One degree Choices; and making decisions that we will know will always have a good outcome.

This week, here is a look of what we will be doing on which days:

- We will be up in Akron on Tuesday morning from 9 until about 2 pm, helping at the Food Pantry up there. I'm very excited to be able to help out, and continue to serve these amazing people of Ohio.

- Wednesday, we will be here in Wadsworth on a training visit exchange with the Zone Leaders, so that should be fun. It's always super fun when you can get together with other missionaries, even just for a few hours!

- Thursday, we have Zone Conference up at Talmadge church bldg. So we will leave to drive up there at about 8:45 on Thursday morning.

I have learned this week, just how much our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ, really and truly love each of us and want what's best for us. I was reminded of that on Saturday and Sunday. on Saturday night, we had just left the church bldg from watching both sessions of General Conference, and were headed home. Sister Webb called us and said, "Elders, I have some food here for you guys, and I know you were at the church today all day, so I want you to feel welcome in a members home tonight and tomorrow". They invited us over for the Sunday morning session, and then Sister McIntire called us, and said that she had some food for us, haha and she said, "I know you missionaries these days need a good "mom" to cook for you away from home"πŸ˜‰, so she and her husband brought a lot alot of food, she is the best!

These 2 things were just simple reminders to me that Heavenly Father is aware of our lives, and He knows where all of us are and what we need, at exactly the right time that we need it. I am truly blessed because, Heavenly Father continues to watch out for me, but more importantly, He guides me to who needs to be taught and talked to here in Wadsworth. I think Wadsworth has been the area where I have had to work my absolute hardest, to get done what needs to get done. Not because of anything we aren't doing here, but because this work of Salvation is so important, and we all have to be engaged and do our very best to be bold and have love to reach out to people in love and urgency to teach them the principles and knowledge of the Gospel.

I know this Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know it with all of my heart. I invite each of us to re listen and reread what was talked about and taught in General Conference this week, and practice the principles of love and charity, as we talk with and have interactions with different people everyday. I promise it with have a huge huge difference in our lives!

I love and miss you all so much! I'm forever and ever grateful for an incredible and wonderful family in my life to support me.

I love you forever and always!

Elder McEwan
